Barbara Gale Arnold Gaines

Barbara Arnold Gaines, 71, of Goldston died Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Chatham Hospital. Mrs. Gaines was born in Lee County on March 22, 1949 the daughter of Raymond T. and Margaret Margie (Buchanan) Arnold. Barbara was a member of Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church and had worked at J. S. Waters School as a custodian. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank Wicker and sister, Brenda Betts. She is survived by her husband of 53 years: Dennis Gaines; three daughters: Lucinda "Cindy" Gaines, Marcie Gaines Mashburn and Heidi Gaines all of Goldston; three sons: Mickey Gaines of Goldston, Nicholas Gaines, wife Crystal of Bear Creek and Jordan Gaines of Goldston; one brother: Raymond T. Arnold of Buncombe County; sisters, Ann Bryant and Sarah Marsh of Sanford; brother-in-law, Roy Foushee of Gulf; grandchildren, Hannah Keifer, husband Nick of Bear Creek, Jarrett Mashburn of Goldston, Hollie Fuquay of Bear Creek, Carter Gaines; great-grandchildren, Emerson Keifer and expected soon, Emery Keifer; numerous nieces and Nephews; Canine Companion, Scrappy.
