Arthur Narl Fields

Arthur N. Fields, 87, of Vander Oldham Road, Bear Creek died Thursday, March 3, 2016 at UNC Hospitals. Mr. Fields was born in Chatham County on October 5, 1928 the son of Richard Mack and Florence (Hancock) Fields. Arthur was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church and self employed in the installation of poultry equipment. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, watching wrestling and time spent with his family. Arthur was a jokester and could always be seen with a smile and a laugh. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Melrose "Bo" Binkley Fields; daughter, Pat Fields Hart and his parents. He is survived by two daughters: Beverly Scott and husband, Myron of Bear Creek, NC, Linda Davis of Bear Creek; grandchildren, Christy Harris and husband, Rodney of Bear Creek, Tracy Cox and wife, Crystal of Bear Creek, Gina Lindley and husband, Jamie of Silk Hope, Brad Moody and wife, Jennifer of Bennett, Ricky Moody of Bear Creek; Branson Scott of Bear Creek; great-grandchildren, John Mark Beal, Jaycee Dooley, Preston Cox, Tanner Dooley and Maisy Moody. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City and other times at the family home. The funeral will be Sunday, March 6, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Bear Creek Baptist Church, 1269 Bonlee-Carbonton Rd., Bear Creek with Rev. David Hicks and Rev. Phil Nelson officiating.
