Arthur Donald "Duck" Andrew, 62, 1296 Delphus Stinson Road, Goldston, NC died Sunday, December 25, 2011 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation, Asheboro, NC. Mr. Andrew was born November 14, 1949, the son of Arthur Monroe and Grace Hicks Andrew. Mr. Andrew was born in Chatham County, and was employed with Townsend Hatchery. Donald loved going to the mountains, drag racing, visiting his family, friends, and playing cards and golf. He was preceded in death by parents, Arthur Monroe Andrew and Grace Hicks Andrew, brother, Lynne Andrew, sisters, Arlene A. Gilliland and Janice Andrew. He is survived by his wife of 37 years: Jackie (Gaines) Andrew of the home, brother: Glenne Andrew and wife, Anne of Sanford, NC; and by several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December, 28, 2011 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 17721 NC Hwy 902, Bear Creek, NC with Rev. Darrell Garner officiating.
