Annie Margaret Maness Phillips, 86, of Siler City passed peacefully Monday July 15, 2013 at the home of her son. Mrs. Phillips was born in Randolph County on February 28, 1927, the daughter of Millard and Lula (Hicks) Maness. She worked in textiles and later retired after serving many years as a nursing assistant. She remained a long standing member of Loves Creek Baptist Church from the age of 18. She was known for being an honest, selfless woman and faithfully dedicated to her family and her Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. B. Phillips, Sr.; her parents; brothers, J, C. and James Allen Maness; sisters, Eula Darr and Lessie Mote.
The funeral will be held at Loves Creek Baptist Church July 18, at 2 pm with Rev. Bob Boyd officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 pm until prior to the service. Burial will be in the Loves Creek Baptist Church cemetery.
She is survived by one son Thomas L. Phillips of Siler City; step-son W. B. Phillips, Jr. and wife Verna of Ramseur; grandson Tony L. Phillips and Sherrill T. Phillips and wife Chasity of Siler City; great-grandchildren Chastity Ryser, Megan Johnson, Christian Phillips and Lily Phillips; brothers Charlie and Tom Maness of Snow Camp, Earl and Gurney Maness of Liberty, Millard Maness, Jr. of Siler City; sister Doris Gutherie of Siler City; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a dear friend and former daughter-in-law Betty Phillips.
