Anna Elizabeth Parrish Garrett, 83, of 2037 Bonlee-Carbonton Road, Goldston died Friday, March 30, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Garrett was born in Forsyth County on August 21, 1928, the daughter of Edgar and Ora (Howard) Parrish.
She made a career as an Executive Secretary, having worked with the YMCA of Greensboro for over 30 years, Carolina Steel and Magnolia Street Baptist Church also in Greensboro. She was currently a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Goldston. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Riley Garrett ; her parents and a brother, Eddie Parrish.
She is survived by one son: Phillip Garrett and one daughter, Kathryn G. Price and husband, Keith both of Goldston, NC; grandchildren, Jeremiah Price and wife, Suzanne, Stephen Garrett, Jessica Bryant and husband, Justin, Laura Pendry and husband, Chad, Jennie Price and Julie Price; step-granddaughter, Brittany Justice; great-grandchildren, Waylon Cole Bryant and Braxton Amon Pendry; nephews, Stuart Parrish and wife, Debbie, Andy Parrish and Winfield Parrish and wife, Jennifer.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church. The funeral will be Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church, 3825 Bonlee-Carbonton Road, Goldston with Rev. Bob Griffith and Rev. Bob Bulls officiating. A graveside committal service will follow at 5:00 PM in Goodwill Baptist Church Cemetery, 3110 Piney Grove Road, Kernersville, NC.
Memorials may be made to the Southern Baptist Women's Missionary Union or the Baptist Children's Home.
