Albert Fletcher Jourdan, 87, of Bear Creek died Friday, July 12, 2019.
Mr. Jourdan was born in Chatham County on March 14, 1932 the son of George S and Sankie (Oldham) Jourdan. He was a self- employed construction worker, a bull dozier operator for 26 years, a cattle farmer and a member of Antioch Christian Church. Albert had a great love of the outdoors, enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an exceptional gardener. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William and George Jourdan; sisters, Ollie Sharpe, Mary Ruth Johnson and Nathel Clark.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years: Willie Mae (Stanley) Jourdan; son: Stanley Jourdan and wife, Jackie of Bear Creek; daughters: Judy Phillips and husband, Dennis of Bear Creek and Susan Griffin and husband, Danny of Sanford;seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City. The funeral will be Sunday, July 14, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Antioch Christian Church, 246 Antioch Christian Church Road, Bear Creek with Rev. Jimmy Talton, Rev. Clark Davis and Rev. Neal Kight officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
