Aileen Greeson Jones of Siler City died Friday, October 11, 2013 at Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell.
Aileen was born in Guilford County on April 15, 1924 the daughter of James and Minnie Holt Greeson. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Siler City where she was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class and served on the bereavement committee. During WWII she was a telephone operator. Aileen was a member of the Siler City Squares and had been a supervisor for J. P. Stevens. She enjoyed square dancing, shopping, working with crafts and working in her flowers. At Christmas she was Santa Claus for the family. Every Sunday she always had brunch with her sister-in-law, Ruby. Aileen was preceded in death by her husband, J. Samuel Jones; her parents; sisters and brothers, Frances Sharpe, Jeanette Ingle, Ceola Elliott, James Wade and Kirby Greeson.
She is survived by sisters, Betty G. Keck and husband, Lee Roy of Julian, Hilda G. Humble and husband, Clifton of Kimesville; sister-in-law, Ruby Greeson of Julian; several special nieces and nephews; and special friend, Paul Ferguson of Siler City.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 6:00 -8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC 27344. The funeral will be Sunday, October 13, 2013 at 4:00 PM at Coble's Lutheran Church, 5200 Coble's Church Road, Julian, NC with Rev. Clyde Denny and Rev. David Neff officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
