Mary Frances Ivey Smith

Mary Frances Ivey Smith, 93, of South Second Avenue, Siler City died Friday, April 24, 2015 at her residence . Mrs. Smith was born in Chatham County on April 4, 1922 the daughter of Preston and Minnie (Sizemore) Ivey. Mrs. Smith was a member of the First Baptist Church of Siler City and retired from Glendale Hosiery. She was an active member of the Dig 'N Dream Garden Club. Mary Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Allen Smith; daughter, Ruth Hissong; parents; brother, Harold Ivey; sister, Christine Norman. She is survived by one daughter: Peggy Smith Ellington and husband, Wayne; son: Al Smith and wife, Marianne; sister: Louise Ivey Womble all of Siler City, NC; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday April 26, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. A graveside service will follow at 4:00 PM at Oakwood Cemetery, N. Chatham Avenue, Siler City with Rev. Tony Capehart officiating.
